Sub-Genres of Thrillers

Action thriller: Features a race against the clock and contains violence and explosions and guns, it also contains an obvious antagonist.

Crime thriller: Involves a crime or crimes, and focus on criminals rather than the police and emphasize action these films include murders, robberies chases, shootouts and double-crosses.

Drama thriller: Usually slower pace and involves character development and twists in the plot.

Political thriller: The protagonist has to work to become a member of the government.

Psychological thriller: The action between the protagonist and the antagonist is mental rather than physical, but may end with a little violence to resolve the situation.

These are all the different types of sub-genres.
